Cairo & Red Sea

Overview

Three guided days among the monuments of Cairo, followed by four nights at an all-inclusive resort on the Red Sea. The Cairo section covers Giza, Saqqara, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the old city with a private Egyptologist. In Hurghada the pace changes: reef snorkelling, warm sea and time to do nothing at all. Domestic flight and all transfers included. A good choice for families and first-time visitors.

Day by day

1. Day1

   Arrival in Cairo

   Meet & assist inside Cairo International Airport and private transfer to your hotel. Evening at leisure.

2. Day2

   Giza and Saqqara

   With your Egyptologist, visit the Giza plateau and the Sphinx, then drive to Saqqara for the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the earliest of Egypt's pyramids, and the ruins of Memphis. Lunch at a countryside restaurant.

3. Day3

   Grand Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo

   Morning in the Grand Egyptian Museum. Afternoon at the Citadel and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, followed by the lanes of Khan el-Khalili and coffee at a traditional café.

4. Day4

   Fly to Hurghada

   Transfer to Cairo airport for the one-hour flight to Hurghada. Our local representative meets you and takes you to your all-inclusive resort. Afternoon on the beach.

5. Day5

   Giftun Islands by boat

   Full-day boat trip to the Giftun Islands with two snorkelling stops over coral reefs and lunch on board. Snorkelling equipment provided.

6. Day6

   Hurghada at leisure

   A free day at the resort. Optional excursions: a desert safari by quad bike to a Bedouin camp, a glass-bottom boat or an introductory diving lesson.

7. Day7

   Hurghada at leisure

   Another day by the sea. Hurghada Marina makes a pleasant evening stroll.

8. Day8

   Departure

   Transfer to Hurghada International Airport for your flight home. If you depart from Cairo, we add the domestic flight and connect you.
