Dahab Adventure Break

Overview

Dahab is Sinai's laid-back town: a slow pace, clear water and mountains on every side of the bay. Stay three nights at a 4-star hotel on the bay, and head out by 4x4 to the Blue Hole to snorkel over its famous reef. In the evening, a Bedouin dinner by the fire in a wadi outside town. For something different, an optional night climb of Mount Sinai for sunrise, followed by a visit to St Catherine's Monastery. Suits friends, solo travellers and active families.

Day by day

1. Day1

   Cairo to Dahab

   Early departure from Cairo by coach through the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel and along the Nuweiba road. Arrive in the afternoon and check in. The evening is free on the Dahab seafront.

2. Day2

   Blue Hole and Bedouin dinner

   Travel by 4x4 to the Blue Hole for snorkelling, followed by a light lunch at a Bedouin camp on the shore and a second swimming stop on the coast road back. In the evening, a Bedouin dinner by the fire in a wadi outside Dahab.

3. Day3

   Free day, Mount Sinai optional

   A free morning to relax, or an optional camel trek to Ras Abu Galum. Rest in the afternoon. Those who wish depart in the evening for St Catherine and the night climb of Mount Sinai for sunrise, followed by a visit to the monastery.

4. Day4

   Return to Cairo

   Late breakfast and check-out once the Mount Sinai group is back, then the coach to Cairo. Arrival at night.
